About this deal

Nearly all the moulds we tested suffered from a bit of spillage, despite the inclusion of a drip tray (which can spill if you don’t keep an eye on it), so the sipping spouts included with this mould are a welcome addition. When frozen, the lollies can be left in the mould and covered with the tight-fitting lid, which is included, until needed. However, this means they are very difficult to fit in a small freezer, and you can’t split them up once they’re frozen, either. Lastly, inside the box are some recipe cards that had easy but interesting flavour suggestions on it, which took our lollies to the next level. Compact design: As well as fitting easily into an average-sized freezer drawer, we looked for moulds that could be put away in a cupboard easily, too.

There’s no mention of where to get the correct-size lolly sticks when the 16 have been used, and the block and moulds are handwash only. However, while the mould itself is small enough to fit into a large freezer drawer, it does take up quite a bit of freezer space for such small lollies. We found some of the bigger lollies too much for our littler testers, while some lollies might not sate an adult’s appetite for icy treats.Beware though – some reviewers have found the connectors between each one can break easily when frozen, so be gentle when unclipping them. These moulds are big, though – they were a challenge to fit into our sizable test freezer, and the lollies themselves were big, too, once removed from the moulds. The best thing about these moulds is that, unlike all the others mentioned here, you can lay them on their side in your freezer and fit them in even the tiniest of spaces, as the lids really are drip-proof. Nuby say these are suitable for babies from 6 months (while the NUK ones are recommended for those aged 9 months and over) and they’re ideal if you’re hoping to create breast milk popsicles for your teething baby. This shiny, brightly coloured mould looks like a children’s toy, and is aimed at babies aged six months and older.

If you're looking to add a dash of something a little stronger to your ice pops, keep in mind that an overly boozy mix will result in a slushy lolly that won't hold its form. We spent three weeks testing ice lolly moulds every day – at one point we considered setting up a free ice lolly stand on our front doorstep. If yours is very full, some moulds do allow you to separate out the lollies and lie them down once they’ve frozen.

By far the cutest lolly moulds we tried, this rack of six little bunnies made the most delightful little ice pops.
