About this deal

For me, I don't usually buy super fast primes, like 1.2's or 1.4's. f/1.8's or f/2's are more than plenty for what I do. But for an APS-C system, there may be some benefits to buying the super fast primes.... This is where my review starts to sound more and more like an echo from my Viltrox 33mm f/1.4 review. The value proposition is certainly there for the Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 as well and you can’t really go wrong when it comes to value for money spent. My point was to show that what the graphics/tables show its that all lenses were better in some aspects. Still, even tested in a more demanding sensor the Viltrox achieved better center sharpness and less vigneting (much less actually).

VILTROX AF 23mm F1.4 XF Lens for Fuji X-mount Camera Body

So how does it perform in real-world situations? Well, the image quality is exceptionally good. The results at wide-open actually surprised me. The details, sharpness and contrast are well preserved. Fuji X-T3 . Sigma 30mmF1.4 @30mm . f/1.4 . 1/22000″ . ISO 320 . Classic Neg Fuji X-T3 . Sigma 30mmF1.4 @30mm . f/1.4 . 1/2500″ . ISO 320 . Classic Neg Sharpness is excellent at the center of the image frame, even wide-open. The rest of the frame is rather less impressive at f/1.4 but the region between the center and the edges comes on strong at f/2.8, and the edges and corners hit their stride at f/5.6. However, based on our experience with the test transitions (it wasn't the first one really) suggests that the Fujinon remains better at f/1.4 and f/2. We'll see. Markus is planning some re-tests but this will take a while." As for the sun stars results, the shot taken at f8 produces much softer and less rounded results. On the other hand, it looks sharper at f16 and more detailed than f8. LEFT: Fuji X-E4 . Sigma 30mmF1.4 @30mm . f/16 . 1/500″ . ISO 320 . Classic Neg

You've intentionally removed some of the ingredients there, so of course it tastes bad. Most lens look bad if you remove some of their elements. At 275 grams, the weight of this compact lens is decently light to mount on any Fujifilm camera body without feeling adding much weight to the camera. LEFT: Fuji X-E4 . His expertise with equipment doesn’t end there, though. He is also an encyclopedia when it comes to all manner of cameras, camera holsters and bags, flashguns, tripods and heads, printers, papers and inks, and just about anything imaging-related. kính có chế độ cận cảnh cho phép người dùng có được những bức hình cận cảnh đẹp tuyệt đến từng chi tiết. This is probably to be expected though as the Viltrox comes in 40 grams lighter with an overall footprint of pretty much the same size. Viltrox 23mm F1.4 is good, but the 23mm F2 WR & 23mm F1.4 XF are being somewhat better. Viltrox does have some CAs at different apertures, therefore too much for my taste, and is much bigger than the 23/F2 XF. And of course, the cheaper Lens. Bokeh is a bit busy, open aperture heavy vignetting, and a bit distortion in straight lines, for architecture photography. Considering the price, its fair - good enough. The AF Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 XF was released in August 2020 and in comparison, we had to wait till January 2021 before the Fujifilm counterpart, the XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR, saw the light of day.

But its definitly a good thing to have options, and unfortunatly not everyone agree...never understood why.

If you demand more from your gear I would encourage you to consider the Fujifilm options but in the same breath they come at a considerably higher cost and if you are on a budget it is indeed nice to have options without having to make too many compromises. ProsMy long awaited Viltrox 23mm f1.4 is finally here and ive had it for a few hours so I decided to do some first impressions / review. I have some more time tommorow to take images as long as the weather is nice, so if you want any more info or specific test shots let me know! Coming from a guy who likes to shoot streets with 23mm and 35mm focal lengths, I am able to adapt the Sigma 30mm f1.4 very well. In these 2 weeks of loan, I do not find much of a challenge using this lens except for the above-mentioned issue. Fuji X-T3 . Sigma 30mmF1.4 @30mm . f/1.4 . 1/2700″ . ISO 160 . Post-edited

Since you have the 35mm f2 with you, I suggest you to keep it unless you need that extra stop of light. Maybe you should ask yourself is it worthy to upgrade? It is subjective to individual for IQ. If you are comparing to XF33mm f1.4, I will think you can upgrade to this lens. I have Tamaron 18-300mm and XC 35mm F2 lenses for my FUJIFILM X-S 10. XC 35mm f2 or SIGMA 30mm 1.4 which lense produce overall image quality?. is it wothy to replace sigma 30mm 1.4 with XC 35mm F2? also what about viltrox 23mm f1.4? Viltrox knows that brand manufacturers are shifting their sights to the top end of the lens market, and they sense an opportunity. By targeting the 56mm at f/1.4, they have taken the fight much closer to Fuji by offering a fast prime. This is a fast-focusing optic that can take very pleasing portraits, is sharp, well made, and comes in at an extremely competitive price. This is not a lens I'm expecting to dump after 3 or 4 years, moving on to something more premium. This is a premium lens that will find a place in many shooters' camera bags. What Could Be Improved In terms of specifications, the Viltrox is a 10-element design in 9 groups, which includes one ED (extra-low dispersion) and one HRI (high refractive) element. It has a 9-blade aperture, weighs 290 g, and takes a standard 52mm filter. In fact, if you compare it side by side with the 23mm model you'd be pretty hard-pressed to tell them apart, bar that the wider optic has a petal-shaped hood. As with many contemporary lenses, it uses a focus-by-wire design, and the firmware is upgradeable courtesy of the micro-USB port.Another problem is that people tend to defend their options with more effort than what they employ on thinking about adjusting to reallity.
