About this deal

In the German translations, Rowley's name is Rupert. Coincidentally, Greg alludes to this in Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson's Journal when he says he will change Rowley's role into a made-up kid named Rupert who is an overexaggerated parody. In the online book, Rowley is said to own a PlayStation with 42 games. However, in the movie, Rowley is shown to have a Wii, meaning that he probably upgraded his console. A shorter Wimpy Kid story from Rowley's point of view was written to celebrate World Book Day 2019. Kinney later developed it into a full-length book, becoming Rowley Jefferson's Journal, because he enjoyed writing it. [9]

Despite his quirks, Rowley's good heart and innocence shine through. His parents' overprotectiveness may be hindering his growth and preventing him from experiencing new things. However, Greg could also benefit from being more considerate of Rowley's feelings and not dragging him into trouble. Ultimately, with better communication and understanding, both Greg and Rowley could improve their friendship and grow as individuals. But Rowley has agreed to tell Greg's story along the way, too. (After all, Greg says one day he will be rich and famous and the world will need to know how he managed it). Lilli was a girl. From when she was a baby, she liked putting things in her mouth and occasionally, put her parents' things in her mouth as well. Her doctor said she was teething to her parents. Lilli's teeth started to come in and they were really sharp. As Lilli got older, she had playdates but the other kids always ended up crying because of you know what. She was bought books about not biting but she never stopped. Plus books were one of the favourite things Lilli liked to chew on. Lilli was now old enough for kindergarten but her parents didn't warn the teacher that Lilli liked to bite people and she bit the teacher so she got sent home early. Lilli's parents saw the doctor and she said Lilli was a vampire. Lilli's mother then remembered how Lilli had become a vampire and she started considering Transylvania: School for Biters. A few weeks later, the doctor said that Lilli actually wasn't a vampire and they kept it a secret between themselves. a b Kantor, Emma. "Jeff Kinney to Expand 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' World". Publishers Weekly . Retrieved 29 March 2019.Rowley possesses a pure soul and deeply believes in the underlying affection Greg has for him. He also shares a close relationship with his parents, and disappointing them weighs heavily on him. Despite his good-natured spirit, Rowley has had a few run-ins with his parents, like causing a mess in the basement during a Halloween attraction, spending extravagantly at the country club with Greg, and wandering off without informing his parents, resulting in early bedtime. This is the third book to not have the word "Diary" in it, with the first being The Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Book and the second being Rowley Jefferson's Awesome Friendly Adventure.

Throughout their adventures, Rowley's endearing personality, loyalty, and genuine nature shine through, making him an indispensable part of Greg's life and the heart of their enduring friendship. He is often seen as an anti-hero/antagonist in the book series, but is a true hero in the movies. Rowley usually gets blamed for Greg's mischievous pranks. Despite his idiotic behavior, Rowley always wishes the best for everyone, and is a very nice, thoughtful and innocent kid. Rowley starts his diary by explaining that he started writing in one because his best friend, Greg Heffley, owns one as well. In the second entry, Rowley shows his diary to Greg, who accuses Rowley of copying him. Greg then comes up with the idea that Rowley's journal should be Greg's biography. Rowley complies, and changes the title of his diary from Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid to Diary of Greg Heffley by Greg Heffley's Best Friend Rowley Jefferson. Rowley, on the other hand, is not very bright and often does silly things that end up getting Greg in trouble. Despite this, he has a caring but naive personality and always wishes the best for everyone. He can also be quite immature, sleeping with his stuffed toys and prioritizing his Dinoblazer Action Figures over other activities like writing his comic, Zoo-Wee Mama! for the school paper. He also has a fondness for a children's singer named Joshie, which his parents find childish. He even thinks that "volleyball" is actually "bolleyball." Jeff Kinney said that he named Rowley after a city in Massachusetts because he thought it would fit the character as being "slow and innocent and pure".Rowley’s spooky stories might leave you laughing, but beware, you could end up sleeping with the lights on! This is the first book to have Greg as a minor character, and will probably be the last book to do that. Maughan, Shannon (February 13, 2020). "Jeff Kinney's First 'Wimpy Kid' Fantasy Adventure Due in April". Publishers Weekly . Retrieved February 13, 2020. Rowley’s best friend Greg Heffley has been chronicling his middle-school years in thirteen Diary of a Wimpy Kid journals . . . and counting. But it’s finally time for readers to hear directly from Rowley in a journal of his own. In Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid, Rowley writes about his experiences and agrees to play the role of biographer for Greg along the way. (After all, one day Greg will be rich and famous, and everyone will want to know his life’s story.) But Rowley is a poor choice for the job, and his “biography” of Greg is a hilarious mess. Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson’s Journal offers readers a new way to look at the Wimpy world—one fans won’t want to miss! Rowley's immaturity and naivety occasionally leave him susceptible to Greg's manipulation, but his charming and innocent nature makes him popular, particularly among his fellow students, especially the girls. Their friendship, while sometimes challenging, holds genuine affection. In the movie adaptations, their bond is even more developed compared to the books, though they remain true friends in both versions.
