About this deal

Bag 5 has a few noteworthy pieces. The printed 2x2 tile is an interesting inclusion since it gets completely covered up. If you wanted to use the pieces in this set to re-build it into something else I could see them being used to make a Bat-signal. But again, who buys this set to do that? Ultimately I think it’s just a nod to Batman focused pieces Lego has produced in the past.

Joker was in the 2019 Batmobile set in a much more classic outfit. In the Batwing he's wearing his mime costume that he uses to get up close to Vinnie Ricorso. He uses a quill to murder him which is here represented by a feather plume. Protect the streets of Gotham City with our meticulously designed LEGO Batman sets. Each set pays homage to the iconic world of the Dark Knight, delivering an immersive experience that captures the essence of Batman's crime-fighting adventures. From Batmobile toys and LEGO Batwings to LEGO Batman and The Joker minifigures, fans can recreate pivotal moments from the Batman comics, movies, and animated series.

Bag 8 adds more to the top of the Batwing and fleshes out the tail. The tail is my least favorite part of this build visually. The rest of the ship is smooth and neat. The studs on the tail really make it stand out in a negative way. I don't know how they could have avoided this without creating a new element. But it's a shame there's such an eye-sore on what is otherwise a beautiful build. Building Experience: 8/10 - There are a lot of fun techniques used throughout the whole building process. The level of detail is great. And it's a fun model to put together. But it is very repetitive. The right half of the ship is identical to the left. Not much that can be done about that though.

Sure, there are some inaccuracies, but I see them as compromises. For the amount of toys that were over-the-top with the action figures not fitting in the canopy or having to push the head or something to use action features, I think we can accept some flaws. Not that the set should be spared from criticism as I do believe the clips used to steal Joker's balloons could have been an action feature much like the miniguns on 76139 1989 Batmobile.

Bag 5 is used to add the edging to the left wing. It’s an amazing feat of Lego engineering and geometry. Of course LEGO has been churning out licensed Batman products for years so we're not exactly early to the party with this Batwing but the sub theme of "UCS" Batman sets is relatively new. However they may be short lived as unlike modular building there's only a limited number of Batman vehicles you can base a LEGO set on. The main model is finished, but we still have Bag 13 left. It's contents create the posing display stand...

The aforementioned considerable size was necessary to match 76139 1989 Batmobile and these famous vehicles look fantastic together. Information has sometimes differed regarding their scale but these designs conform to modern reference material for both vehicles and the LEGO models integrate shared features, notably including extremely similar seats. In Your words: After all, most LEGO Service employees are not hard-core AFOLs with tons of experience in complex construction techniques. Many of them are just people who were looking for a part-time job, and are good with people (especially of the younger variety), but had never built a LEGO set in their life before getting hired”. Possibly the sales numbers for the Batmobile warranted a Batwing set, but not splurging on a custom canopy element. But when you put the windscreen on you can still see the exposed floor. It's a small thing, but it seems like for a model of this size they should have been able to add a few more tiles.Bag 12 completes our Batwing model! Fins, windscreen, and weapons finish off the building process for the main model. Bag 7 begins the detailing process for the surface of the Batwing. A lot of tiles and grill pieces get added. Without having a part to actually measure, I think your best bet would be the longest 10 wood screw you can find. According to a size chart I found online, the longest they make that size in is 2-1/4". I'd have preferred at least a 2-1/2", but that doesn't appear to be an option. You'll want to pilot drill the hole so you don't risk splitting the stud. For softwood, 7/64" is suggested. If you can't get that size, I'd advise going smaller (3/32") so you don't risk having the threads pull out. If you're installing the screw by hand (and you're not Arnold), either rub the threaded portion of the screw on a bar of soap, or apply a drop or two of liquid soap (be careful not to drip!) to the end right before you begin driving the screw into the piloted hole. This will lubricate it temporarily, making it easier to turn in...for a little while at least. Try to do it in one attempt, or remove the screw and try again (with more soap) later if you need to. It's not unheard of to snap a screw off if you try to drive it in more after letting it sit too long.

Designers sometimes integrate references based upon the colours inside sets. For example, you can often find the colours of the Portuguese flag inside Marcos Bessa's creations. Curved slopes are placed along the outermost edges of each wing, nestling almost perfectly against wedge plates. Despite their apparent simplicity, these curved slopes are connected using an unusual combination of clips, bars and two rubber bands to ensure that the elegant shaping remains intact. I was surprised to encounter two printed 2x2 round tiles which display Batman's famous insignia inside! Lawrence and The Joker are very likely to remain exclusive (e.g LEGO won't release another set in the future that has one of them in) so their value should go up over time. Out of the two The Joker will definitely do better just because he is a much more widely known character. The same can probably be said of Batman even though he has featured in other sets, in fact he's already number 10 on The Top 10 Most Expensive LEGO Batman Minifigures! What's the cheapest I can buy this set for?

The fact that noone can tell you the right dimensions of the screw/nail is very simple, ONLY YOU know what walls you have in your house, there will never be any info released about the dimensions of the hanger, because LEGO can't take the responsibility for people's poor choices, and we don't want consumers to call and say that we told them to use a drywall screw sunk in half an inch in a concrete wall... Ikea or home depo doesn't tell you either how to hang up their stuff. Most elements are more readily available in particular colours which can result in the use of incongruous shades. Sure, everyone loves the design of the Batmobile, making 76139 1989 Batmobile a no-brainer. But while the Batwing is cool, is it 2,000+ piece LEGO set worthy? Yes, yes it is. Some LEGO sets look even more impressive in person – and 76161 1989 Batwing fits into that category. In addition to consultations with the consultee listed, we will publicise the application in accordance with national requirements and our local policy. I’m sorry though that I expect that minimum of building it halfway correct to make it work as I intended.
