About this deal

Little Imperfections carries timeless messages of love and acceptance told through a truly unique perspective, and makes the perfect gift for anybody—young, old, or in between. Note: I received e-copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. In their debut picture book and accompanying video series, Peet Montzingo and Rockwell Sands have woven moving messages and life lessons with bravery, comedy, and grace. I hate when straight authors will just plop in a gay character for "diversity points" and fit them nicely into an overused and, frankly harmful, trope.

The results are humorous with cheeky commentary as Josie vents about parents and the school’s administration. She grew inside me, developed a heart right underneath mine and sometimes I know what she's feeling before she does. Although I got a little tired of the cute persona voice, there were times when real emotions came out and I found myself relieved and tuning in. In the second, Macy is working as a doctor and engaged to a single father, and she hasn’t spoken to Elliot since their breakup. The story is told through the empathic and humorous perspective of Peet Montzingo, the internet sensation who grew up as the only "tall" sibling in a family of little people. So she gets a job at a prestigious prep school that EVERYONE around the world wants to get into so their children can make it to the Ivey league schools.

Wouldn’t it be lovely to be a family or a classroom that describes inconsequential mistakes as beautiful oopsies? Diary entries fancifully addressed to TV host Ellen DeGeneres serve as flashbacks to Lily’s teenage years, when she met her first love, Atlas Corrigan, a homeless boy she found squatting in a neighbor’s house. There is a lot to be charmed about when it comes to Tiny Imperfections and it makes for the perfect spring-summer read. The dazzling new picture book that addresses the universal themes of being different, feeling like you don't fit in, and finding yourself along the way.The more Bay Area parents feign "it's all good, everything will work out," my stats show what a higher pain in the ass quotient they are. She hasn’t had a serious boyfriend in years, much to the chagrin of her Aunt Viv and her best friend, Lola.

There is also a lot of love between the pages as Josie explores the relationship with her daughter while plotting her future. This "I Love You" book is just like your SO – full of little imperfections that you absolutely love. Therefore, I feel this would be an excellent book for parents and families to read and discuss, learning how to overcome what society may term "not normal", and/or how to treat all 'different' people with respect and acceptance, especially those deemed "imperfect". To pay for all this adventure, Alli has worked in education for over 20 years in San Francisco and Seattle - from an overcrowded, cacophonous public high school to a pristine private girl's school. Josie has got to be one of my favorite characters ever, and I would love to see more about the Bordelon family, especially after the ending of Tiny Imperfections. This book deals with Peet's life growing up and how he felt different in his family because of being 'normal' in a family of dwarfs.
