It covers the basic issues, but does so in more depth, and with a greater appreciation for the ranges of alternative opinions, than do some of the other introductory books I've read.The late Tony Merry wrote in plain English, so it's an easier way to get one's head around the theory, rather than getting caught-up in scientific psychobabble. It is highly accessible to students at any level of study and contains numerous practical exercises to help the reader gain a deeper understanding of person-centred theory.

She is a former Convenor for the British Association for the Person-Centred Approach (BAPCA) and a former board member of the World Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapies (WAPECP). He co-founded the British Association for the Person-Centred Approach (BAPCA) in 1989 and was editor of the BAPCA journal Person-Centred Practice until his untimely death in August 2004.
