As ick and cliché as this might sound, she was a strong character that gave an amusing and well-written take on things. I love to think that most of her characters are real people; they’re so well builded with realistic flaws and more authentic day-to-day basis that you just get attached to them and want to read more about them even after 500 or 700 pages long. I loved his relationship with all of the adults in this book and how important he became to Aurora and Rhodes.

The lead character, Aurora, is an upbeat, almost painfully optimistic woman well on the road to self-discovery (which would also normally make me stabby - if I want cheer and upbeat feelings, I'll go eat a doughnut and pretend it's helping me lose weight). After breaking up with her partner of fourteen years, Aurora De La Torre heads back to the only place she ever considered home: Pagosa, Colorado. Having no real idea of who she was as an individual anymore, Aurora takes a leap of faith after travelling the country, choosing to semi-permanently settle back in Colorado. this book really made me wanna get out of my bed, stop reading till 4 am, and instead wake up at 4 am, go on 5 hour hikes, go camping and generally just go outside.He's grumpy and has no intention on becoming Aurora's friend, no matter how difficult it then becomes. Thankfully it didn't happen often enough to become an issue for me personally, but it's just one of those personal preferences that found me cringing. No one can make me cheer for giving me the bare minimum of phyiscal contact as much as Mariana Zapata. And look, after a pretty tumultuous year and a bit due to world events, this novel just hit all of the right spots like a big serve of carbs (don't you judge me) and gave me that warm, gooey feeling in my usually cold, dead heart. you're just going to leave your only child with his other dad who was more absent in his life than in it just like that?

Aurora wanted to went camping for so long and when she comes out of the house and sees that Rhodes has set up a tent and chairs. also, maybe for Rhodes to feel more like THE hero alongside Aurora as the heroine, yknow what i mean?

In case it isn't and I was just lucky with this one, I'd be glad anyway, because this was a needed distraction and an addition to my collection that I would have regretted forever, if Leni hadn't convinced me to pick it up. real, natural, beautiful❤️ they don't use fancy ass words to confess their love, it's in their subtle actions, the small touches, the inarticulated care and affection that makes it much more erotic than any smut i have read. Both characters manage to talk through their issues and acknowledge their intentions to learn and do better. Rhodes still wanted to be a dad and to be a part of Amos' life agreed, therefore Am has two dads and a mom.
