About this deal

Jenny is extremely self-aware, able to be extremely introspective, and her audio diaries (before she accidentally smashed her phone!

Her journey swerves from terrifying near road collisions in Russia and weather extremes in Australia to breathtaking landscapes in Mongolia and exhilarating wildlife encounters in North America. I have read a lot of books about walking, climbing, sailing and climbing and would class this as one of the best. With infectious wit and honesty, Jenny brings readers into her remarkable Round the World adventure, as she takes on four continents, 16 countries - and countless cups of coffee.I loved hearing about all of her adventures though I felt a little sad that she often felt rushed and couldn’t stop to enjoy the cultures she was immersed in.

Having had a cycling adventure only slightly less epic than Jenny's I had been looking forward to hearing her account of her record breaking ride; and I was not disappointed! I loved Jenny's focus on other people and her surroundings, her succinct, yet super engaging style that was flowing wonderfully. She hadn’t yet earned her name ‘Little Pig’ – that would come later – but the golden mustard steel frame of my Shand Stooshie bike had already become my companion.Jenny Graham tackles the world and shares her experiences of the brutal, elite world of endurance cycling with humour, honesty and humility. She recounts the misery of mid-winter in the Southern Hemisphere, alarming encounters with kangaroos, grizzly bears and countless others. Outside this book outlining Jenny's quest to break the world record, what this book also reaffirms for me is that kindness exists no matter what language. Thank you Jenny Graham for this book, and as a person who also loves cycling you've given me another boost to get out there and ride my bike with a big smile on my face.

It’s amazing how fickle the mind is - last week I wanted to be a gamer, after reading this book I now want to be an endurance cyclist. Details of the mind-bending logistics of Jenny's self-supported journey around the planet are balanced beautifully with heart-warming tales of the kindness of strangers, descriptions of wild landscapes and (most importantly) where in the world to find the best cinnamon roll. I have always believe in this wholeheartedly and regardless that the world could be so DAMN DREARY, the acts of kindness and hospitality that strangers extended to her just filled my heart with so much joy and gratitude in knowing that there is always hope and light no matter the circumstance or where you are.The cabin was so remote it would take me two hours to find a brew worthy of the ride, then two hours back again. It is against the clock, which doesn't stop until you make it back to your starting point, at least 18,000 miles after that first pedal push. An epic adventure with such great storytelling that I felt like I was riding with Jenny and feeling her exact emotions.

I’m not sure there are many killer kangaroos in Australia but this became a very real concern for her. Brimming with wonderful observations and reflections, this takes pride of place on the adventure bookshelf.a reminder of what a positive mindset, daily intentions, the kindness of strangers and the love of friends enables even when very far awa y. a reminder of what a positive mindset, daily intentions, the kindness of strangers and the love of friends enables even when very far away. With a natural, chatty and engaging style that effuses who Jenny is, this is down-to-earth storytelling of her extraordinary ride . She has travelled the world racing and touring in grass roots back-packing events and continues explorations with her role as a presenter on Global Cycling Network's documentary channel.
