About this deal

The Mido Ocean Star GMT Special Edition is a robust, automatic diving watch that combines the functionality of the “true GMT”, also known as the “traveller’s GMT”. Here at MONOCHROME, we tend to prefer the true GMT, as it’s designed to be a faithful companion for frequent travellers. This dive watch is protected with a flat sapphire crystal which has anti-reflective treatment on both sides that not only offers great legibility under any lighting conditions but also complements the timepiece’s elegant design. The repeated squares and rectangles all over the design give it a very coherent, clean, modern and functional appearance.

Currently, the brand under the motto "Inspired by architecture" creates model lines inspired by iconic buildings, such as Big Ben in London, the Colosseum in Rome, or the Great Wall of China. Come join the discussion about watch collections, displays, watch winders, accessories, classifieds, and more! It has been a whopping 76 years since the unveiling of its very first Ocean Star timepiece and today Mido astounds with timely updates such as incorporating the coveted GMT function to this popular collection. Simply put, the list of companies offering traveller GMT watches is very small, and the list of those offering Office GMT watches is very long. This strap features flawless white stitching at its lugs and is fitted with a Mido signed tang buckle finished with a shiny full polish.

We have full control over the design, materials, specifications, marketing and even dispatch so we can perfect every little detail and remain confident with our work. These striking orange numerals are often associated with Mido and reflect the vibrant collections released by this Swiss watchmaker. In addition to its screw-down case back, the Ocean Star GMT Black is built with a screw-down signed crown which allows for a water resistance of 200m. Introducing the Ocean Star GMT Blue, a handsome new addition that displays two different time zones, namely home time and local time, clearly with an additional blue GMT hand.

It also pioneered absolute water tightness with this cork-crown sealing system and single-shell case. That said I’m having it here at mine for a trial period and will definitely keep it as a present to me for my next birthday. All brand names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. This case material not only resists corrosion, it also boasts excellent durability and is non-magnetic.With the use of this material usually reserved for luxury watchmaking, MIDO confirms its constant desire to offer cutting-edge technology, the very best materials, and high-end finishes without forsaking the value of its watches. The blue fabric strap has two red stripes and a central white stripe, tone-on-tone stitching, metal loops and reinforced adjustment holes with a satin-finished and polished stainless steel pin buckle. The case finishings are worth noting because they are a typical combination of brushed surfaces with some polished areas to enhance the overall impression. So, the argument goes, this method is best for tracking a remote office or two as you can switch the 24-hr hand to whatever timezone you like, whenever you like, whilst leaving the local time alone, unhacked. I believe this may in part be due to the fact that I didn’t try one of the colourways review here, but instead the black/blue version.
