About this deal

Up at full gain (100%) the mic was still showing a relatively low level (about 40%), meaning at lot of post recording boost and then mastering work to sort out the hiss and extra 'air' created. This will start your application with Klarna Retail Finance or V12 Retail Finance, our finance partners, and completing this form should take approximately 10 minutes.

I just got my new CL-1 a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been using it with a SHURE SM57 on some of my voiceover projects. In the demo version, the MIDI is generated at C3, but you can change that to C1 or any other configuration in the paid version. Despite AKG’s claims that it was “designed in Austria,” it was actually designed in Germany, by Neumann in about 1986.The default setting is ideal for signals such as an SM57 mic on a snare, whereas the "Max" setting is better suited for quieter source material such as acoustic instruments, podcasting, ASMR, and foley. The Cloudlifter CL-1 provides up to +25dB of gain that partners with your preamp in amplifying your mics' signal for clean, transparent recordings. In actual practice, you wouldn’t start with MIDI-generated audio anyway, you’d start with a snare track you wanted to clean up, or a kick drum track where you liked the feel but didn’t particularly like the sound. In fact, I used it extensively in my recent podcast microphone shootout, because it let me run my DAW inputs comfortably in the middle of their gain range, leaving plenty of headroom for matching gain across microphones. Experience excellence with Cloud's acclaimed ribbon microphones and Cloudlifter Mic Activators, trusted by artists, recording studios, broadcast facilities, touring companies, schools, and universities globally.
