About this deal

Regarding the audiobook version of his novels, Steven Erikson says, "Mostly, I'm not consulted on pronunciations, etc. That said, I did work with the reader for The God is Not Willing and by all accounts she was terrific." [15] Wow wow wow. I was blown away by the final act of this book, and overall I really liked it, but I'll give it 4.5 stars rounded down due to it taking a long time to get me invested in half of the story. Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore He rises to show you compassion, for the LORD is a just God. Blessed are all who wait for Him.

Peace had settled its suffocating blanket since then, snug around traders, innkeepers, crafts-people, sheep-herders and farmers and all the rest. Stone replaced wood, empty land sprouted a town. None of that seemed, or looked, real. The God is not Willing by Steven EriksonI feel the need to mention early on in my review that Karsa Orlong does not feature in The God is Not Willing. Now referred to as The Shattered God, Karsa resides in a dwelling outside Darujhistan, being generally morose and miserable and refusing the affections of those who revere him.

Another theme you'll certainly notice is the one that you've previously seen in all Malazan novels, compassion. Good and evil are just a matter of perspective. It appears different to everyone because everyone's eyes are skewed a certain way. Showing compassion to someone who opposes you is the true way to bridge that gap. This is emulated in the story coupled with the earlier mentioned themes of the inevitability of change and the loosing of one's innocence resulted in a truly astounding conclusion to the book. The long feared invasion is about to begin. And this time it won't be three simple warriors. This time thousands are poised to flood the lands of the south. And in their way, a single legion of Malazan marines.... The world building is out of this world, I love it. The writing is same as his other series, it’s great but as usual the story is told in more than ten perspectives. The POV switch was very well done. The fight scenes were well depicted and the friendship is so realistic. Despite the Malazans being soldiers and all, they are still compassionate, it reminds me of what they did in Capustan. I was scared that the marines here will be a rip off of the others but I was so wrong.
