About this deal

There are a few plot holes that could do with patching and the fight sequences come straight from the Rocky School of boxing. When you get a few quality professionals as they did in this film you tend to produce a quality product.

Oliver Platt provides good support as Gabe`s partner Fitz, and there is an early appearance from Heather Graham as Emily Forrester, the sister of a fellow convict. Cinema Paradiso and all other Cinema Paradiso product and service names are trademarks of Pace-e-Solutions Limited or its affiliates. Upon hearing a remark that Diggs once knocked out five fighters in one day, Fitz “drunkenly” says he knows of a fighter who could knock out any 10 in one day: Honey Roy Palmer. There are moments where the film goes a little dark and the tone becomes more serious than just one-up-man-ship and it’s here that James Woods shines, losing his usual cool demeanor to show a more morally righteous side. No chapter selection screen, no trailer, merely the static menu screen with the same four icons as every other recent MGM back catalogue release.

It's far from a sure thing, though, since Gabe's fighter is "Honey" Roy Palmer (Gossett), a cranky, over-the-hill 48-year-old who has just come out of retirement. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Caine will supply a fighter he's convinced will beat any 10 men whom Diggstown has to offer over the course of one day.

James Woods plays the consumate conman who sets up a boxing sting involving Louis Gosset Jr as the boxer, and Oliver Platt as their accomplice. Sam Lester (played by Roger Hewlett), who is secretly given a laxative before the fight and eventually runs from the ring. Subtitles: Danish, Dutch, English Hard of Hearing, Finnish, French, Norwegian, Swedish DVD Regions: Region 2 Formats: Pal Aspect Ratio: Widescreen 1.The golden age of Hollywood is long gone now, but that chase for an audience still goes on, and it helps if a film does more than one thing. Caine finds himself a contender (Louis Gossett Jnr) and bets the crooked boss of Diggstown that his man can beat ten fighters in 24 hours.

Read more about the condition New: An item that is still in its original shrink wrap from the manufacturer and the original manufacturer’s seal (if applicable) has not been removed. This knocks the spots off 99% of films coming out at the moment and the fact that it has taken 12 years to come out on DVD is a disgrace!Gabe, recognising a golden opportunity, bets the town's powerful boss (Bruce Dern) that his fighter will defeat ten opponents in 24 hours. His con man friend makes a foolish bet with Diggstown's owner on who'd win the boxing matches - their man against ten Diggstown men. Part boxing flick (think Rocky) and part con thriller (think Oceans Eleven) the movie takes twists and turns where you’re never quite sure who will come out on top.
