About this deal

Speaking of calls, you won’t be using these buds just for gaming or media. They sound decent enough though a tad bit faint which is to be expected of microphones so far from your mouth. They will get you through a phone/ video call or Discord chat without any problem though. In normal mode (music mode), there is a slight delay between the image and the sound while watching videos or playing video games, but when you activate the game mode, the image and sound are entirely synchronized. Musically they are more than up to task considering the lower price point. You can choose between the dual modes for gaming or music with a triple tap on the earbuds. The earbuds have a very compact design and ergonomic shape which I’ll discuss further below. The earbuds include three sizes of silicone tips. As someone with large ear canals, I’d have preferred them to have perhaps a fourth, larger set of earbuds. I’ll talk more about the fit of the earbuds a bit further down in this review. Bluetooth 5.2: With Bluetooth 5.2 the Lucifer T1 Bluetooth earphones give a very solid connection even when you might be surrounded by competiting fequencies. This means your connection to your device is solid and won’t break or drop, even when you’re in busy cafes, trains, gaming halls or planes. To use the mic, bend it until it is parallel to your mouth. Make sure the mic diaphragm is in front and the air vent is facing away from your mouth. We’ve placed a small mic icon on the side of the mic diaphragm for added convenience – so you can easily tell which side should be facing yourmouth. The earbuds nestle perfectly down into the case. The lid’s hinge has a bit of a spring assist that helps it snap into both the open and closed positions.

Activating Music mode enables a precision tuned audio experience. Deep bass and high frequencies benefit from this greatly. The 10mm drivers are plenty to provide a rich dynamic drive experience. These are dual mode earbuds with both a music mode and a gaming mode. A triple touch to the left or right earbud will change it from Music to Gaming mode. There is a lovely lady who will tell you when you’ve moved from music to gaming mode. What is clear is that Bass you can feel was the first thing they briefed the audio technicians on for this build. Sound The microphone for calls isn't located at the tip of the stem like on most stem style earbuds. It is located on the outer front side of the stem at the bottom. The call quality is good for indoor calls. This is helped by the presence of pop-up physical triggers along the right edge of the phone, which can be assigned a function for your game, to turn your smartphone into a device that more resembles a gaming controller. This setup delivers quite an advantage in games.

Fit

Treble is fine. Anything more might become a little fatiguing over longer gaming and music listening sessions. It’s not overly edgy. It does stand out over the bottom end though so there is decent separation for that at least. The design on these had me questioning at first but the bulbous top end actually fits really comfortably in the ear. They are also light. Again, you need to seat these well so play with the different tips. The Bluetooth connection is relatively stable, and I have not had cuts or interference at reasonable distances. The maximum range of these BS-T1s is medium, they allow me to move a couple of rooms away from my computer, but when I get to the kitchen, I lose signal (like most similar headphones).

Dual Mode Switching: Triple tap the R/L touch control. This works with a short pause between each tap – maybe just under half a second. I tried this more than once mid song to see how the frequencies and sound signature changed. The music mode definitely sounded less woody. I always describe the wooly sound some earbuds produce like your sitting in front of a speaker and there is sheet of cardboard between you and the speaker. The new model sports a more understated, less “game-centric” design, as well as a better main camera, an improved macro camera and cleaner software – although there are some notable and curious downgrades, too, such as the 5 Pro’s use of an OLED display over the 4 Pro’s Super AMOLED and better range of storage and RAM options.

What I’d change

Thanks to that, the headphones are light, only 4.5 grams, while the set (headphones plus box) stays at 42 grams. The Lucidifer T1 earbuds have considerably less runtime than standard true wireless earbuds but, it is comparable to aptX low latency gaming headphones. Long battery life is not the strongest point of any low latency bluetooth device so, in this regard the Lucifer T1 earbuds sacrifices a bit of battery life for less delay (55ms), which is a trade-off most gamers are willing to take. I mentioned earlier in the review that, as someone with large ear canals who typically needs large ear tips for earbuds to stay secure in my ears, I would have preferred perhaps a fourth larger size. While the largest size tips held the earbuds in my ears satisfactorily, they constantly felt like they were going to fall out, which was a bit unnerving. Yet even during intense exercise with a significant amount of sweat dripping into my ears, the earbuds did stay put. Also, almost every time I wore them, one would fit fine, but I’d have to spend time getting the other in just the right spots that it would both stay in and I could hear sound from it. The length of the buds is really nice and I’d say while not as comfortable as my AirPod Pros they are super light and will be comfortable for long listening sessions or gaming sessions.

As mentioned above, both the earbuds and their charging case look cool, with a sort of 80s retro sci-fi style. Answer a call: we must tap on any headset while we are receiving a call. During the call, a touch will make us hang up. I’d love to see someone do an aftermarket ear foam tip but the silicon to seal and provide some passive noise isolation. What are they missing? Endless hours of experimentation, professional work, and personal investment in Home Theatre, Hi-Fi, Smart Home Automation and Headphones have come to this.

These earbuds are equipped with the ability to toggle between “Music” mode and “Gaming” mode by triple-tapping either earbud’s touch control. I wasn’t sure which mode was supposed to be which, but each did produce a very different sound. One mode sounded a bit tinnier, with sharp highs and mid-range, but little to no base. The other mode sounded a bit more muffled, with mostly mid-range and some base, but almost no highs. Generally speaking, I found the tinnier mode to be better for listening to music and podcasts, and I didn’t have much use for the more muffled mode. The 3.5 hour battery life on the T1 buds themselves is pretty poor compared to others I’ve tested which average 5-6 hours. That said, there are nine extra charges in the case for a total of 35 hours of battery life. I should point out that the 3.5hrs wasn’t enough for my typical work day usage because my day is split into 4-5hour chunks with lunch break in between. Also, considering that the buds take at least an hour to fully recharge you might want to think about how you use them for long stretches. Should you buy?
