Prologue Harry Potter lived at number four Privet Drive with his horrid Uncle and Aunt and their vile son, Dudley. The game uses similar character and location designs as the Chamber of Secrets game and the previous generation consoles by making them 3D. It was probably deleted because the sequence of Harry's accident and his subsequent stay in the infirmary in the original story is omitted here. Harry is sorted into Gryffindor, after pleading with the Sorting Hat, a talking witch's hat, not to place him in Slytherin, notorious for being the house of darker witches and wizards, as well as Lord Voldemort.

While the PlayStation 2 version allows the player to land anywhere they want, in the Xbox and GameCube version the landing zones are limited.It is likely that he would have spoken to Harry, before the latter left with his book collection as shown in the old subtitle.

Leaving this screen warps you back to the Hogwarts Grounds but curiously, if this is executed at night, Harry spawns higher above the ground. K. Rowling, making this game more original, more stylized, and moving away from the movie and many things created by Eurocom were refused by the publisher, including Hogwarts paintings paying homage to the developers who went through months of suffering, internal pressure and families amputated from their fathers. While the dialogue "Mister Malfoy, come over here" is used in the game, the unused dialogue files in "EaSound" reveal that the first part of the dialogue which is actually a response to a lost line of Lockart's which, according to the subtitle, says "If you'd like to partner up with Mr Weasley-' for the duel.snd", it contains some monologue that (except for the Bean) does not exist in the game, not even in the subtitles. The Harry Potter franchise made a fairly passable jump to game consoles last year when EA released games based on the movie adaptation of the first novel in the series.
