About this deal

Even without scrutinising, images from the Canon EOS 750D are impressive. With the Picture Control colour options set to ‘Standard’, colours are vibrant without looking oversaturated or unnatural. The camera’s evaluative exposure metering is also extremely reliable, and though it shares the same 63-zone system as the 700D, there’s now a 7560-pixel RGB sensor to account for colour as well as light approaching the infra-red spectrum.

Build quality is as high as you’d expect at this price point. The chassis structure is all-plastic rather than magnesium alloy, but it feels very solid with no flex or squeaks. Rubberised panels on both sides and on the rear thumb rest give great grip, but there’s no weather sealing, so you’d be wise to take care in dusty or wet environments. Weather sealing is a feature most manufacturers reserve for their enthusiast-level DSLRs, so you’ll need to step up to a 70D or 7D Mark II to get this protection. Continuous shooting performance is a match for the 700D and D5500 at 5fps, with a modest amount of buffer memory that maintains this speed for seven RAW frames before it slows to the speed of whatever SD card you have inserted in its SD card slot. Battery life is rated at 440 shots, though, far short of the D5500’s 820 shots and the viewfinder has regressed slightly, going from a 0.85x to a 0.82x magnification. That equates to 0.51x magnification on a full-frame camera, which makes it one of the smallest viewfinders currently offered by an interchangeable-lens camera. Only Canon’s low-end EOS 1300D has a smaller magnification viewfinder at 0.8x. Beneath the viewfinder, little has changed, with Canon opting to keep the same 3-inch touch sensitive Clear View II TFT screen that impressed us on the 700D. This offers a resolution of 1040k-dots and displays in the 3:2 aspect to match the aspect ratio of the imaging sensor.Of course if you want maximum low light image quality, a long exposure from a tripod is the only way to go. Nevertheless, the quality difference between our 1-second ISO 400 long exposure and the Handheld Night Scene image is impressively small. The Canon EOS 750D has been released at the same time as the 760D Canon EOS 750D / T6i Review – Features The Xiaomi 12T Pro offers a whopping 200MP main camera, but how does this perform, and do the other cameras deliver? Joshua Waller puts it through its paces. This system uses sensor-based phase detection points to enhance focus speed and accuracy in Live View and is said to be close to the speed of Dual Pixel AF as well as being up to four times faster than the EOS 100D.

It’s not just autofocussing that’s fast, as the 750D also benefits from the new DIGIC 6 image processor for fast continuous shooting. This isn’t actually any faster than the 700D at 5fps, but with over 30% more pixels to push in the 750D, it’s a respectable performance, especially as the 750D will maintain this speed for 940 JPEG shots where the 700D could only manage 22. Canon is still using its trusted 24-megapixel sensor as the base for a lot of its entry and mid-range DSLRs, so you shouldn’t feel too short-changed going for an older model like the 750D. Frequent users of video are catered for with a 3.5mic port at the side and full HD video (1920×1080) captured at 30,25 or 24fps. There’s the option to lower the resolution (1280×720) and shoot at 60,50 or 30fps if preferred, while another useful video feature not often found on beginner DSLRs is the option to manually control sound levels in-camera. There’s no creaking or warping of the parts that make up the Canon EOS 750D’s shell, and it has an aluminium skeleton underneath the plastic to help keep everything rigid. A slightly lower-end construction also keeps the camera light. Higher Image Resolution: The T5i has a resolution of 17.9 megapixels, whereas the T6i provides 24 MP.

At the time of the 750D’s launch, Wi-Fi and NFC were pretty much the standard connectivity options for cameras like this. These days, NFC has on the whole disappeared, while always-on low-power Bluetooth connectivity is very popular.

There’s an anti-aliasing filter, so while detail is well-rendered, if you pixel-peep at 100%, you might find fractionally more in cameras such as the Nikon D5600. Dynamic range is also less impressive than some of its rivals, but looking at images in isolation, you should still be pretty pleased with them.VIDEO: 720p | 1080p | Uncompressed 1080p | 4K | 5.5K | 8K ⋅ SCREEN: Flip (tilt) F , Articulating A , Touchscreen T ⋅ BODY FEATURE: In-Body Image Stabilization S , Weather Sealed Externally the 750D is almost identical to its predecessor, featuring a 3-inch 1040k-dot LCD display that’s both touch-sensitive and able to articulate. The camera’s physical control layout is also very similar to the 700D. However, if you like the look of the top-panel LCD display and rear control wheel on the EOS 70D, the new 760D introduced alongside the 750D includes these features, but in every other respect is identical to the 750D. Whether red-eye reduction is enabled or not, the 750D successfully avoided red-eye during our testing. The flash was also able to evenly illuminate a white surface from a distance of 1.5 meters with no vignetting at a 17mm focal length. Good for: Those looking for an inexpensive, well-built body to pair with Canon glass. Users wanting to take more control of their camera.
